Dear Members,
This summer, Before and After 6 will cross a major milestone. As a group we have been meeting and networking for close to five years old.
Over these years, there has been continued growth, and today, the sheer wealth of business acumen represented by you, the members, is an asset to our network.
Before & After 6 is all about trust, ethical business and sharing of knowledge. Our meetings and activities serve as a platform for discussion and open networking. Such discussions allow us to share our particular expertise, highlight case studies and best practices, and add to the overall value the network has delivered these last years.
In this vein, last year we organised our first conference in November at the RAF Club in Piccadilly: Preparing to operate in a post recession environment: Equipping our companies to compete and succeed.
This event was well-received and many of you participated as panel speakers. Our keynote speaker was Mark Berrisford-Smith, Senior Economist in HSBC Bank Plc. The aim of the conference was all about sharing of thought leadership and the exchange of specialist knowledge.
We are now preparing for our first Round Table Discussion which will carry on from the topics discussed during the November 2009 Conference.
Website:
We have launched a new website for the network http://b4anda6.ning.com. This is based on social networking technology and allows us to network online. Members who have paid the £100 membership fee are being invited to register and populate their profile pages with information about their company, services and products.
Many of you are aware that there is a Before and After 6 linked-in group. This will now be open to all members and associated members and Linked-in members will be invited to attend drinks and events, but will only be invited to attend two meetings throughout the year.
Membership Fee:
A while ago we had asked members to pay a £100 commitment fee towards the network. This fee covers the cost of our website hosting, some of our activities (such as conference and meeting programmes) and the involved admin such as payment fees, paper, printing, communications, etc.
The membership fee now provides benefits which will only be accessible by paying members. These benefits include:
- Access to the new website
- Invitations to address the network as a speaker or to lead workshops
- Access to exclusive invitations extended to the network
- Access to discounts and special offers extended to the network.
If you are paying now, we have attached an invoice and a membership form which we ask for you to fill in and return.

Businesses are all feeling the pressure of a changing world. The rules are different, and there are many questions. How should we operate as we move out of the recession? Where will the growth come from? What and where are the emerging opportunities? Who are the best people?
This half day meeting is your opportunity to question and discuss with other businesses in our exclusive community while demonstrating your expertise and sharing best practice. Gain insights from keynote speaker Mark Beresford Smith, Senior Economist at HSBC and participate in talks on challenges facing our businesses today during panel sessions and workshops. We shall keep you updated as we confirm our topics, speakers and presenters.
Tickets are limited so please confirm your place today by filling in the form, one per delegate, and returning it, together with your payment. Guests are welcome to attend both the conference and the drinks reception.
